🫵🏼 You have it in you, but you don’t know where to start?
We have shown over and over again that a great short can be created in only 72 hours!
And in this special 8-week edition of our movie challenge, we want to show you how to get it done without losing sleep or compromising your work or school.
Anyone can do this! You know you want to. You just need a final push! This is it!
Make your movie with us, even (or especially) if you have never made one before.

🏆 Awards
Jury’s Choice & Audience Favorite after the screening on May 10th. For a film to compete for the Audience Favorite, its director or producer has to be present at the screening in person. For the Jury’s Choice competition, they need to at least join us via video call.
There are no stupid questions!
How can I take part?
Follow the challenge rules and submit your film before the deadline.
If you’re looking for collaborators or feedback, join the Pitch Event on March 22nd or our Sunday meetups at 5 PM in Workish Neukölln.
Do I have to attend the Kick-Off Event?
No. The kick-off is a great way to meet collaborators and get to know the prompt first, but it is not required to participate.
Do I have to follow the challenge structure or attend meetups?
No. The structure and meetups are optional support.
You are free to organize your process however you like.
Can people outside of Berlin participate?
Yes, of course! The challenge is open to filmmakers everywhere.
Only the final screening takes place in Berlin.
How can I submit a movie?
The submission link will be shared on this page by the end of April.
Your film must be submitted before May 8th.
Do I need a team?
No. You can come solo and meet people during the meetups and of course the kick-off event. But if you have a team, bring ‘em along!
How much does it cost?
The challenge is completely free. We won’t reject any donations if you want to support the community 😜
Can I just hand in a random movie of mine?
No. Your film must be created during the challenge and include the prompt.
We want you to create the movie specifically for the challenge.
What can I win?
The real win is that you start and finish a film.
But there are also awards for Jury’s Choice and Audience Favorite, including a trophy and a bottle of champagne for the winning team.
For a film to compete for the Audience Favorite, its director or producer has to be present at the screening in person. For the Jury’s Choice competition, they need to at least join us via video call.
What is the reasoning behind the prompt?
The prompt is suggested and voted by the community. It gives all films a shared element without limiting creativity.
The final prompt will be voted during the Kick-Off Event.
Do I need filmmaking experience?
No. The challenge is open to all experience levels.
The goal is simply to create something and finish a film.
