Help us help others
We are running Filmmakers & Movie Nerds because we know that filmmaking as such is already a challenge and it’s much easier with other people. We believe that we can make an actual difference in helping people to make movies.
We are a registered nonprofit in Berlin, a real organization with a real structure, and we've been doing this since 2022 across 170+ meetups, 3 Movie Sprints, and countless productions.
Unfortunately, no one here is getting paid – yet. But building this organisation is the first step to professionally apply for funding. No investor is waiting for a return. Every event we organize, every challenge we run, every film that gets made through this community exists because people showed up and made it happen.
We cannot offer you a salary. What we're offering though is something harder to find: a place where your skills actually matter, where you work on things that get seen, and where the people around you are genuinely passionate about filmmaking. You'll build real experience, can work across event production, communications, partnerships, and creative projects, and be part of a team that is building something from the ground up.
Because we are an officially registered association (e.V.), we can issue recognized certificates for both volunteers and interns. That means your time here goes on your CV with weight behind it.
Whether you're building a career, looking for hands-on experience, or just want to contribute to something meaningful, this is a place where you can do real work, with real people, on something that actually matters and have proper and meaningful impact!
In the long run we want that people create projects that can be funded and compensate for their effort. Non-profit doesn’t mean that people won’t get paid forever.

We are always looking for
Social Media Management
Are into the Instagram, YouTube and or TikTok game? We have so many stories to tell and need people to focus on puting them into reels and posts and onto our channels. At the moment we are really looking for a YouTube Manager as we want to rebuild or channel. We need someone who enjoys being our the Instagram Manager. And we are always happy to have people create content for the community, on meetups and behind the scenes for movie shoots.
Event Organizer
Do you enjoy bringing people together and create unforgettable experiences? Join us to organize contest, film screenings, workshops, and networking events that inspire and connect our community.
Content Creator
Photographer & Videographer! 170+ meetups. 3 Movie Sprints. Countless films made. If you love capturing real moments, help us build a visual archive of what this community actually does. Shoot events, behind-the-scenes, screenings, and faces. Whether you work with a camera, a phone, or a gimbal, if you can make it look and feel real, we want you.
Association Management
How about helping our association and filmmaking community run smoothly and grow? Join us to manage memberships, coordinate with the board, and keep our association thriving behind the scenes.
Marketing & PR
Do you like sharing stories and engage audiences? Join us to promote our events, craft compelling content, and build our public presence across media channels.
Partnership Manager
Are you good at building meaningful collaborations? Join us to connect with sponsors, cultural institutions, and creative partners to expand our reach and impact.
Grants & Funding Writer
Are you good with words and motivated to make a real impact? Help Filmmakers & Movie Nerds grow by researching and writing grant applications for cultural funding, public institutions, and creative programs. You'll work directly with the board to tell our story to funders, translate what we do into compelling proposals, and help secure the resources that keep this community going.
