Welcome to the
Filmmakers & Movie Nerds e.V

We make movies, learn, create and grow together.

At our core, we are united by a love for movies and a drive to learn by doing. We create all kinds of short films without limits on genre, style, or story. Ideas are born together, but anyone can pitch their own. Once we choose a project, we assign roles, shoot, and edit as a team.

We keep things simple, start creating quickly, focus on solutions, and treat each other with respect. Our shared mindset is clear we want to grow our skills while making films together. We work as equals, stay committed, and push forward when it’s time to focus. Healthy debates happen, but respect always comes first. We value open communication, transparency, and reliability. For now, we choose speed over perfection though that may evolve as we grow.

Who are we?

We’re a diverse group of film lovers from around the world, united by a shared passion for storytelling. Some of us work in the film industry, others are just starting out but what matters most is the desire to create together. Whether you can act, write scripts, record sound, edit, color grade, produce, organize, scout locations, or simply bring great energy to the set there’s a place for you here.

Our projects are collaborative, and roles shift from film to film. We believe that making movies is a team effort, built on trust, shared values, and mutual support. That’s why we’re not just creating short films—we’re building a community where members know each other, grow together, and turn ideas into something unforgettable.

Creative Focus Groups

  • Collaborate on ideas, improve scriptwriting skills, and pitch scripts to be turned into films.

  • Share real-life story ideas, explore creative approaches, and discuss edits.

  • Work with creators to produce music videos and develop visual storytelling skills.

  • Practice weekly, create reels, and collaborate with filmmakers for on-camera experience.

  • Learn and test film equipment, share tips, and create content in partnership with manufacturers.

Approach

We focus on execution and action

  • Speed Over Perfection – Creative Squeeze

Our short cycle projects are designed for fast learning and collaboration. Now on a three-month cycle, they involve small casts, easy locations, 1–2 shooting days, quick edits, and rotating roles. Perfect for meeting the group and gaining hands-on experience.

  • Slow and Steady – Focus on Quality

We also create longer projects when the story calls for it. While speed is our default, we give more time to ideas that need deeper storytelling, higher production quality, and greater attention to detail.
