Welcome to the
Filmmakers & Movie Nerds
Who are we?
We're a bunch of film enthusiasts with different backgrounds who want to create short movies together. Some already have quite a bit of experience in the actual film industry. This is not mandatory, but it would be nice if you could bring something that is useful for filmmaking. Maybe you can act, write a script, record audio, tell a story like no one else, grade a movie to look amazing, produce, organize a crazy bunch like us, host a film crew at your flat, know amazing locations … you name it. Roles vary across projects
We are from countries all over the globe. Different origins. Same kind of values. Same love for movies. We want to create a strong community where the members know each other and can rely on each other. Making movies is a group effort, so it’s really important that we build trust and grow together.
We make movies, learn, create and grow together.
Our Vision
What we all have in common is that we love movies and want to improve how to make films by taking action. We want to create all sorts of short movies. There is no restriction on genre, style, or story. We mutually come up with project ideas but people are welcome to pitch their own ideas. We then decide on the roles, shoot it and edit it together.
Keep an idea simple, start creating, focus on solution, be respectful.
What’s important is that we share a mindset: We want to build our skills as we create together. We are team players on eye level. We can work hard when needed. Sometimes we have to focus. We may sometimes fight for an idea, but the most important thing is that respect each other. This means we talk openly. We act transparently. We are committed and reliable. At the moment we still prefer speed over perfectionism – this may change.
We focus on execution and action
Two Approaches
Speed over perfection - creative squeeze: The monthly challenge
We used to do challenges every month, now we changed to a duration of three months, to have more time for proper planning, production and execution. Short projects cycles require just a couple of actors. Easy to reach places. Shooting one or two day max. Editing in a couple of days. Fast decisions. Roles change with projects. These projects are really good if you want to learn quickly and meet the group.
Slow and steady - focus on quality
Of course we also want to create longer projects as we go. Usually we focus on speed over perfection but of course we believe story is king. Then we flesh out the projects and extend them according to the need of the project with respect to time and effort required.

Strong connections through
regular meetups
Weekly Meetup
A big part of filmmaking is having a team you know, trust and are comfortable with. It comes down to showing up! That’s why we meet every Sunday. We’ve been doing that for a year now and our connection is become really strong. It’s magical. Not the whole community is going to be there at once, but a core group will always be around to welcome you! To us, it’s important that we get to know each other in person. To create a collective of real people instead of an online group of strangers.
If this is for you, come along, and let's create and learn together! Simply leave your information below, and we will get in touch!

Get focussed and
deep into special topics
Focus Groups
We have groups dedicated on different topics to get deeper into the matter.
✍️ Writing (Fiction)
Writers get together to get ideas and improve the creation of scripts for fiction movies. It’s a proven method to write regulary. This group will help you to start and get going. You can pitch your script in the regular meetup and have it turned into a movie.
🗺️ Documentary
If you’re more into stories from real life, you can join the documentary focus group. Share your ideas and talk about different ways you could tackle a topic that interests you. Show material and exchange about possible edits.
📼 Music Videos
Musicians need visual content to show their craft to the world. Get together with digital creator focussing on music videos. A lot of filmmakers (Guy Ritchie for example) started their journey here.
🎭 Acting
Like every other physical task, it’s important to exercise. Our idea is to get together weekly and act together. Also we can invite camera people and help you create reels and tapes.
🎥 Tech
It’s important to know your equipment. This group is focussed on technology needed to create movies. Lights, cameras and audio will be borrowed and discussed together. We are collaborating with different manufacturers to test their products, give feedback and create social media content for them.
