Rules & questions
π£οΈ How do I pitch?
Do you have a story idea or want to introduce yourself? Hereβs how pitching works:
Youβll have 2 minutes to pitch yourself of your idea to the group and share what you need
Keep it simple:
NAME: Who are you?
OFFER: What role will you have in the movie? Do have a the story? A crew?
NEED: What kind of help do you need (actors, DPs, editors, location e.g.)?
After your pitch people can ask you questions to better understand your vision, current status and how they can contribute to your movie.
After all pitches, participants can form teams around the ideas they love most. No need to have a full script or cast - just bring your excitement and a rough idea!
π How do I join a team?
The sprint needs all kinds of creatives! Hereβs how to find your team:
After the pitches, youβll have time to mingle and chat with the pitchers.
If an idea speaks to you, go talk to the person who pitched it - tell them what you do and how you can contribute.
Teams will form organically based on interest, energy and skills.
Thereβs something for everyone: acting, camera, sound, editing, production, art direction, production help, you name it.
Tip: Be open, be bold, and donβt wait to be pickedβpitch yourself to a project you vibe with!

Asked
Questions
Can I come with a script?
Yes you can totally come with a script. We actually encourage you to do it, so you can focus more on the production and editing in this already tight time frame. However you will have to adjust the script to what we call βmodifiersβ.
What are modifiers?
To push also the most prepared filmmakers and to make sure that content is created in the 72 hours, we will introduce modifiers to the challenge. These will be a line of dialogue, an object and a little extra that have to be put into the movie.
Do I need equipment?
Depends on your role and position. If you are a DOP / Camera operator, you should bring your own camera and light equipment. If youβll edit the movie, bring your laptop. If you are a director, you can just bring your idea and script.
Do I need a team?
Not necessarily. Some people bring a trusted team to the Movie Sprint, but most just just show up, join or create a crew. Thatβs why we meet already a day before: to get people connected. On top: people usually are even are in different teams.
Do I have to stick to a role?
If you registered as a DP but people really need an actor, you can of course change your role if you want. If you are in a project and committed to a role, it would be advisable and the decent way to stay in that role. If there are adequate reasons to leave, you can of course.
Do I need experience?
It probably is beneficial to have some experience already β especially if you are planning to be a the director. But we welcome all people interested in making a film. Donβt hesitate if you are not a pro yet, every team will welcome helping hands!
Can I use my own crew?
If you have worked already with people before, you can of course continue to do so in the Movie Sprint. You can come with your whole crew and a script ready to shoot. Just be fair and register them officially in the Sprint.
Will there be prizes?
Yes we will have a proper Ceremony, prices and certificates. Currently, we are working with an equipment manufacturer that will give us something very nice to play with. On top we are currently talking to companies to chip in.
Do I have to be there on Thursday?
While we advise you to be there for the pitches and getting to know each other, you can join whenever you want. If you have to work on Thursday or can only come in the evening, you can also register the next day.
